I'm coming for you, India!

Re-awakening the Travel Tales blog and I head off for India! Seven more sleeps! With the election babble in the background, I am reminded that it is three years since I travelled abroad for travel's sake; three years since my big 5-Oh party and then Mediterranean cruise with my Mum.
This time it's all about the photography, and I couldn't be more excited to be travelling with the express purpose of making not only memories, but magnificent photographs with a group of like-minded women on the same mission. The icing on the cake - dates which fall exactly in the school holidays, meaning no pay lost, and no guilt about not being there.
I have no idea if I am going to be able to post in India, and I know I won't be able to upload photos from my new camera to my old as iPad, but I should be able to provide a taste of what's happening via my phone, or failing that, make some posts when I am back at home.
I loosely know where we are going, but it feels fantastic to have had all the organisation done by tour leader Susan, who is well versed with India, Indian travel, and photography in India and elsewhere! Our tour is focussed in the north - New Delhi, Taj Mahal/Agra, Jaipur, Rishikesh. All just names to me now, can't wait to make authentic connections.
I'm excited by the potential there will be for awesome people pics, fantastic colours and street opportunities. Also super happy to have been given the opportunity to visit  a school run by the Aasraa Trust, and to have the chance to pass on some much needed resources whilst there.
Aside from the sights and the photography, I am really keen to sample the food, and expand my vegetarian palate (Rishikesh is completely vegetarian for a start).  I watched a couple of Rick Stein programmes from India - certainly gave me an appetite.
So follow my tales if you wish... it's sure to be a completely new travel experience for me and I cannot wait.
